Venom Kicks Spidey’s A**
March 28, 2007
Talking to MTV, Topher Grace says Eddie Brock/Venom will have his way with Spidey in Spider-Man 3:
“You like Spider-Man,” Topher Grace grinned last week, “but isn’t it about time that somebody kicked his ass?” Now, with only six weeks left until the release of “Spider-Man 3,” the man who will soon be known as Venom is promising we’ll finally see Peter Parker getting pummeled. “He kicks Spider-Man’s ass,” Grace grinned, reflecting on his black-suited supervillain. “It was interesting, and it was hard. I had to do a lot of working out, which is very new to me. … I play a bad guy, so that was a very different experience for me, acting-wise.” Cast alongside series stars Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco, the “That ’70s Show” star insisted he’ll be right there in line with the rest of us come May 4. “I’m the guy that’s going to be driving around to theaters opening weekend to watch it,” he smiled. “I used to collect the comic books, and I’m pretty geeked out about it.”
Spider-Man 3 opens on May 4th.

March 28, 2007“Lost” star Naveen Andrews, who plays Sayid on the ABC series, told SCI FI Wire
that he believes the network may be mulling a later start for the upcoming
fourth season, which would begin in January and run straight without a break,
like Fox’s “24.”“I believe that’s the plan,” Andrews said.
He also thinks the show should be returned to it’s earlier time slot.”I think they should make it sort of like what it was before. I liked it when it started a little bit
earlier, because a lot of the audience are kids, aren’t they? I thought, hmm.”

Sin City 2 Casting Johnny Depp & Antonio Banderas?
March 28, 2007MTV talked to Sin City 2 co-director Robert Rodriguez and star Rosario Dawson
about the anticipated film, which will tell one story this time that may include
Johnny Depp and Antonio Banderas. Here are several clips from the article:
“[Depp] was interested in doing the Jackie Boy character that Benicio [Del Toro] played [in the first one], but he was doing that movie ‘Libertine’ in Europe and it just kept getting pushed and delayed and went right through our shooting schedule,” Rodriquez said of the actor he directed in “Once Upon a Time in Mexico.” “But there is a better role for him in ['Hell and Back']. I kept going, ‘Gosh, Jackie Boy is a small part, he could be really good [as Wallace].’ When he wasn’t available, I thought maybe it was meant to be.”
While no deal is in place for Depp at the moment, Rodriguez seemed coyly confident they would get the Oscar-nominated actor. The director was equally excited about potentially casting another of his old favorites, Antonio Banderas.”
When I showed him the first sample of the work, he went, ‘Man I’ll do anything in that. I’ll be the hunchback. You have to bring me onboard, that looks amazing,’ ” Rodriguez recalled. “So Frank met him that time too and he said, ‘I have got to find something for that guy. I’ve never met him before. He’s amazing.’ [So we're] looking at the cast of characters and [looking] to see where he can fit.”

10 Batmobiles for The Dark Knight!
March 28, 2007Blog writer ‘iDima’ posted that he works next to offices where they are creating the Tumblers (or Batmobiles) for The Dark Knight:
My company moved into this new office building this past December. It’s an industrial type place with lots of space. One floor. Warehouse type deal. Well the 3 similar offices next door were completely empty. Until a month or two ago that is.
You’ll remember that Batman begins was filmed on location in Chicago. Because I live/work in Chicago I recognized most of the places the batmobile drove through… even through the extra CGI.
The company that moved in next door… does the props for the new Batman movie that’s currently being filmed here in Chicago……And what’s cooler is that they have like 10 of these in the warehouse. TEN BATMOBILES!!!
I guess they’re going to destroy some of them or something. Their building sets and props all day. I can hear them through the walls of my office.
You can view a photo of the Tumbler here.

Venom After Aunt May?!?!
March 26, 2007
Much to the delight of fans, last month Marvel Comics revealed that Eddie Brock, the original Venom, would be returning to Spider-Man’s life. Unfortunately, all wasn’t as it seemed. Brock would be resurfacing, but not as Venom. For those who haven’t been keeping track of Spider-Man history, Brock surrendered his alien partner to the highest bidder when he learned he had terminal cancer. He attempted to kill himself, but was found and subsequently hospitalized.
Shifting to the world of Peter Parker, the recent Civil War has spun our hero’s life out of control. He revealed his identity to the world while allied with Tony Stark. His fear for his family’s safety was settled when Stark offered them a place in the new Avengers Tower. All seemed well for Spider-Man. Of course, since this is Spider-Man, the good times didn’t last for long. As Iron Man became more and more obsessed with defeating Captain America, Spidey realized his choices in the conflict were wrong. He turned on Tony Stark, and fled with his family. He now finds himself hunted by the government for being an unregistered, powered being, and by his enemies, who now know his true name.
The Kingpin of Crime, Wilson Fisk, was the first to capitalize on Spidey’s weakness. He sent an assassin to eliminate Spider-Man, Aunt May and Mary Jane. Though technically botching the job, the hit man did strike one target – Aunt May. She was rushed to the hospital, but is now in a coma that she may never wake from. In a state of rage and grief, Peter Parker returned to his black costume, symbolically reaching back to a dark time in his past. But back to the hospital where Aunt May is
currently located…Guess where Eddie Brock is residing?
IGN is pleased to present you this exclusive cover to Sensational Spider-Man #39 by Clayton Crain. The possibilities are endless, and Marvel wouldn’t say a word to us.
We leave you with one thought however: Eddie Brock might not have a symbiote when he first surfaces in Sensational Spider-Man, but who says he won’t get it during the course of the story? We asked Marvel this and didn’t get a “no” as a response. In this case, a non-answer might speak volumes. We’ll find out more as soon as we can. We’d also like to take this time to announce that April will be Spider-Man month here at IGN Comics. To celebrate the imminent release of Spider-Man 3 in theaters, we’re dedicating a ton of features to Spidey. Expect interviews, previews, New Reader’s Guides, film analysis (of the third installment as well), an Ultimate Bookshelf segment and much more!
And who knows, maybe we’ll find some definite answers to just who is wearing that symbiote. Stay tuned!
